WASHINGTON, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas C. Sullivan, chairman and chief
executive officer of RPM, Inc. (NYSE: RPM), assumed the position of Chairman
of the Board of the National Paint & Coatings Association (NPCA) at the
association's 114th Annual Meeting, held Oct. 28-30 in Seattle, Washington.
Sullivan, former NPCA vice chairman, succeeded outgoing Chairman, E. Kears
Pollock, retired executive vice president, office of the chief executive at
PPG Industries, Inc.

Sullivan brings 40 years of industry experience and leadership to his two-
year chairmanship. Sullivan joined Republic Powdered Metals, RPM's
forerunner, in 1961 as a divisional sales manager, following two years of
service as a communications officer aboard the U.S.S. Braine battleship, which
operated throughout the Pacific. Sullivan was elected vice president of RPM
in 1967, executive vice president in 1969 and president in 1970. He has been
chairman and CEO since being elected in 1971.
Sullivan serves on the board of directors of Pioneer-Standard Electronics,
Inc., National City Bank, Huffy Corporation and Kaydon Corporation. He also
serves as a trustee and member of the advisory boards of various Cleveland
urban community and educational organizations, including the Cleveland Clinic
Foundation, City Year Cleveland, Cleveland Tomorrow, Malachi House, and the
West Side Multi-Service Center. Sullivan received his B.S. degree in Business
Administration from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
