MEDINA, Ohio, July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- RPM International Inc.
(NYSE: RPM) announced today that it appointed William B. Summers, Jr. to Class
III of the company's board of directors, which expires in 2005, at which time
he will stand for re-election by the company's stockholders. Mr. Summers (54)
succeeds E. Bradley Jones (75), who announced his retirement. Mr. Summers
will serve on the company's Audit Committee.

William B. Summers, Jr. is currently chairman of McDonald Investments
Inc., joining the investment firm 33 years ago. He is a member of the board
of executives of the New York Stock Exchange, and serves on the board of
directors of Developers Diversified Realty Inc.; Wilson Greatbatch
Technologies, Inc.; and the advisory board of Molded Fiber Glass Companies.
From 1989-1992, he was on the board of governors of the National Association
of Securities Dealers, serving as its chairman in 1991. He was also a member
of the NASDAQ Stock Market board of directors from 1992-1994, serving as its
chairman in 1994.
