Supply Chain & Responsible Procurement
Supply Chain Responsible Procurement

Our suppliers are a significant component of our global impact, and we expect our supply chain to uphold our sustainability and ethical standards as outlined in our Code of Conduct - The Values & Expectations of 168 and our Supplier Code of Conduct. We are committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly, respecting and protecting human rights and opposing human trafficking and exploitation.

Our Supplier Code of Conduct requires our suppliers to:

  • Remain free of corruption and conduct business in a fair and ethical manner
  • Operate with social responsibility, including providing a safe work environment and protecting workers’ rights
  • Be a steward of the environment
  • Comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations
Vendor Approval Process

We strengthened our vendor approval process for new suppliers in FY25 by adding additional diligence steps. We use a series of assessments and screenings to vet suppliers in various risk areas, including with respect to human rights, governmental associations, product stewardship, sustainability and corporate responsibility.

The following are ways we evaluate the acceptability, capability and long-term viability of a potential supplier:

  • We use a data platform to assess known governmental affiliations, legal and regulatory violations and negative media publications.
  • High-risk existing and new suppliers are further vetted using a questionnaire, which includes questions related to specific business practices, quality standards, EH&S, regulatory, sustainability and compliance history.
  • Suppliers are sent and asked to comply with the Supplier Code of Conduct.
  • We visit or inspect high-risk suppliers.
  • We use third parties to conduct reviews as part of our evaluation of potential suppliers, vetting companies based on their sustainability risk and performance, including on human rights and EHS factors.

HIGHLIGHT

Engaging Our Suppliers

We engage with suppliers to increase awareness of our Supplier Code of Conduct, and suppliers that meet specific risk criteria are required to confirm intent to comply with the Code. New suppliers are onboarded using a common program executed in cooperation with the center-led Procurement Strategic Sourcing Directors and Legal and Compliance teams.
