Christopher L. Mapes is the former executive chair of Lincoln Electric (Nasdaq: LECO), a position he held from January 2024 until his retirement in December 2024. From December 2013 to December 2023, Mr. Mapes served as Chairman, President and CEO of Lincoln Electric, a global leader in arc welding and cutting. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer starting December 2012. From September 2011 to December 2012, Christopher served as the Chief Operating Officer of Lincoln Electric.

From 2004 to August 2011, Christopher served as an Executive Vice President of A.O. Smith Corporation (NYSE: AOS), a global manufacturer with a water heating and water treatment technologies business, which has residential, commercial, industrial and consumer applications, and the President of its former Electrical Products unit. Christopher started his career with General Motors (NYSE: GM) and has held various roles in industrial manufacturing for over 35 years.

Christopher serves on the boards of The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR), Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN) and A.O. Smith Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, a J.D. from University of Toledo, and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
