Through our Building a Better World initiative, we strive to elevate the communities where we operate. We count on associate engagement and encourage our associates to actively support nonprofits they care about. Our corporate matching program boosts associate donations up to $2,500 per year to help maximize their impact.
We value our ongoing partnerships with organizations and causes in our communities and continue to seek new avenues for providing support. Highlights of our community partnerships in 2023 include:
- In honor of International Women’s Day, the Women of RPM Employee Resource Group hosted a donation drive at our Corporate Office to benefit ACCESS, an organization that provides emergency shelter and services to women and children experiencing homelessness in Summit County, Ohio. Items collected included bedding, personal care items, clothing and crafts.
- Schul continues to support the Litchfield, New Hampshire, chapter of End 68 Hours of Hunger, a public not-for-profit effort to confront the 68 hours of hunger some school children experience over weekends. The Schul team’s campaign focused on helping children stay warm through the cold winter months by collecting hats, mittens, socks and blankets.
- Carboline joined forces again with Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation for an annual toy drive. Since 2007, Carboline associates have donated over 4,000 toys to children receiving treatment at the SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, located near Carboline’s headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri.

Associates from our Malaysia facility spent time visiting Rumah Cahaya Kasih, a local orphanage that provides shelter, food and basic needs to approximately 20 young girls. The RPM team held a coloring contest with prizes, provided lunch and presented the orphanage with a new smart television and essential supplies, including groceries and snacks.

Several Tremco CPG associates and interns were members of the planning team and volunteered at the Let’s Build Construction Camp for Girls in Northeast Ohio. The middle school and high school-age campers learned from the volunteers about proper safety techniques and used a variety of tools to construct sample structures.

In 2023, our Performance Coatings Group GSC in México held a campaign to support Apaqro, an organization dedicated to adoption, rescue and care programs for abandoned animals. As part of the campaign, associates shared personal stories of their own rescued furry best friends to promote awareness of pet adoption. Associates also collected donations of various items commonly needed at the rescue.
Carboline’s annual Carbocare School Supply Drive aims to collect school supplies for students in need. For the 2023 event, Carboline locations around the country each selected a school or charity to donate to in support of students throughout the school year. Carboline’s headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, partnered with KidSmart St. Louis and donated more than 600 items for students. KidSmart is an organization dedicated to providing students in need with essential items for a successful school year. Carboline locations in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Green Bay, Wisconsin, had similar impacts in their communities with the Carbocare school supply drive.
OUR PEOPLE
For the past 12 years, RPM has supported the RID-ALL Green Partnership in Cleveland, Ohio. Through this collaborative effort, a deserted piece of land has been transformed into a thriving urban farm that benefits the surrounding community.
